*VAPORSPACE. . .simply put, boring. . .waste of precious time (as you'll see)
they should have given vapor his own space. . .the restroom 1 POINT
*Tim from utah saints-pleasant surprise at first. . .some good faderskills. . .
some hype. . .then he settled into progressive mediocrity 5 POINTS
*APHEX TWIN. . .seated on the floor surrounded by equipment rj looked like the
mad professor of bass that he is . .thank god he did not let the few aphexheads
down. . .75% new choons including one with a truly gorgeous jazz piano riff and
some homegrown aphex electrobass babylon. . .we got the J9 megamix of the
print side tracks and 1 track off selected. . .short but sweet 10 POINTS
*Jason Jinx. . .this kid can truly rock the tables. . .coming in with 2 bad
bombscare pitched way down. . .and bombing the fader with some real skils. . .
things started really taking off. . .too bad his set was cut short 8 POINTS
*MOBY. . .sucks. . .go!. . .(HOME). . .please 0 POINTS
*D.B.. . .his set was scary. . .at times he sounded alot like the techno-comps
that he compiled, complete with silence between the tracks. . .he does win
points for a combination set. . .and the overdose twins. . ."close your eyes"
and "your son is dead". . .mmm old school ravers. . .5 POINTS
*ORBITAL. . .surely theses guys are feeling the heat from Mr. James's creative
fire, they came in with a track with heavy shades of twin. . .yummy dub. . .
a very solid set with two head turners and high hopes that they are on the lp
which i'm getting tonight. . .so it was like that. . .7 POINTS
*DJ Dimitry. . .weird shades of hardcore with diva vocal layers, que es?? If
maskarave was as big as they hyped it why is this spinning prime time? 3 POINTS
*ADAM X. . .finally some upper eschalon dj ing from a crew who knows how to get
the job done. . .clean crispy hard acid. . .this is what i came for but he was
gone before i knew it. . .too short a set. . . again! 8 Points
*JOSH WINK. . .i like wink alot. . .but he probably blew in from casper east
and clearly didnt have "it" on. . .no deepness, no bomb drops. . .5 POINTS
no report from the "chillout" room cause it was't a chill out room just a place
for the "right" people to schmooze and nothing ticks me off more than that bs
no shows galor. . .most notably keoki and marc spoon. . (unless they spun in
the "chill out" room). . .also no real afterhours. . .and no vibe. . .except
for the bro with the +8 shirt and big smile and a few others stage left. . .
