I'd often rather listen to stupid hardcore than 98% of so called IDM, though, it tends to be more innovative and original...
But to be honest I don't really think of IDM as any defineable musical thing so it'd be kind of hard to call something its opposite. (The Blackout Crew make a decent effort, though -
