I don't think this is a fair comparison. The guitarist in a guitar contest woudn't be plugging in a cd player or something in which to fake it to. The laptop user however, has this power just by the nature of his/her instrument. I don't care one way or the other. I almost think it would be entertaining to watch a bunch of people fake it and try to look interesting. I was more suggesting that the video projection adds something cool to it while helping protect against this. I think it would be funny as hell to watch someone perform by using the mouse to turn the cutoff knob on a filter back and forth for a whole set. Thats what I expect people are doing anyway. tee hee. For the record, i also turn the pan knob! so there. :-P
