Yeah, it's non-IDM but I'll take advantage of the opportnity to comment and
ask some questions myself:
Sneaker Pimps, before I dropped off the edge of the universe, were probably
best known for "6 underground" - a title which made on the soundtrack of
"The Saint." I didn't listen to the full length much but I thought of that
sound there were groups that were much better at the female vocalist over
the downtempo arrangements.
The aside for myself is to ask what happened to some of those groups I used
to like so much: Morcheeba I see is still around and still like their work.
I fell in love with Crustation mostly for the voice of Bronagh Slevin - I
can't track anything specific down other than the album I own, Bloom.
Emiliana Torrini isn't too bad - depsite her Bjork-ishness from time to time
(let Bjork be Bjork) I don't mind her.
I don't know that I'd say Alison Goldfrapp side by side with Sneaker Pimps,
but in terms of technique, ideas, and sound, she (they?) seem like the next
level.
What did happen to Crustation?
