Am enjoying I.A. Bericochea's dark-ish minimal tech slinkiness on 'Sueno'. Some tracks seem premised substantially on a tweak of the BC/CR template. But interesting what a bit more bass presence can offer. Anyway, looking at the credits, I see it was mastered by one Stefan Betke (Only connect! He of Pole repute, who who cut his teeth engineering for the BC boys). Now, OK... I give up pretending now. What is involved exactly in 'mastering' and what contribution does it make to the overall sound of a recording? alan ---------------------- Alan Lockett (Senior Language Co-ordinator - EFL) Language Centre, University of Bristol, 30-32 Tyndall's Park Road, Bristol, BS8 1PY, UK tel: +44 (0)117 3310914 e-mail: Alan.R.Lockett@bristol.ac.uk --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
