www.maxlinecase.com This page (a custom road case company) has dimensions for maximum sizes for carry-on and luggage. If you can make it work by plane, I recommend it-- I flew to a few gigs last year and took a small road case as luggage. It worked brilliantly. I don't recommend the train at all.
