Why bother with an iPod? I guess they have that gee-whiz wheel thingee interface, but that's about it. The iRiver H140, although discontinued, allows for uncompressed .wav recording. The iRiver H340 (also discontinued, but easily available on eBay, etc.) adds a color screen but restricts recording to mp3. Both have FM tuners. The Cowon iAudio X5 adds FLAC playback support, but handles it's connections (except for headphone jack) through a dongle device, which may or may not turn you off). Long story short, there's a lot of options out there besides the iPod. If recording is what you're really interested in, then check out the M-Audio MicroTrack 2496. cheers w -- wallace winfrey wally@booyaka.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
