I agree. The construct "what BoC sound like" is a composite of intersecting
elements many of which are drawn from elsewhere, after all. An artist might
conceivably arrive at a certain sound on a track that 'sounds like BoC'
without ever having heard them before.
Now they're so ubiquitous, the assumption is made that they are being
copied.
