COME OUT! MONDAY IS THE NEW SUNDAY!!!!! HA-HA!! ------------------------------------------------------------ $TINKWORX, DOWNLOWMUSIC, TX http://www.downlowmusic.org $tinkworx, a.k.a. JT Stewart, grew up in rural upstate New York in the Albany area. Being the son of an infamous record collector; Mike Stewart (to this day operating one of the highest regarded rare record shops in the world), music was constantly heard in the Stewart home. JT decided he wanted to try to make some electronic music. Luckily he received a vintage analog synthesizer (a Roland JX8P) as a gift from his parents. He acquired a cheap drum machine and more pieces of equipment and started making songs. He sent them to his favorite labels, and received overwhelmingly positive responses from Morgan Geist (Metro Area) at his Environ label, and from Russ Gabriel(Ferox). But having only cheap recording equipment and little money, it would be a while before any $tinkworx material being released. In 1999, JT and a great friend Minto George, decided to put out a record or two. This resulted in the first $tinkworx record, as well the first record on their label Down Low Music. Danny Wolfers (aka Legowelt), loved dL001, and helped arrange a record of older $tinkworx material on Bunker from The Hague. A $tinkworx remix (2nd Down Low record) and another Bunker release followed. The $tinkworx material on the first two Down Low releases created a buzz in the underground dance music community, and new material caught the attention of Amsterdam-based Rush Hour and the affiliated rising-star,Delsin Records. $tinkworx≠ sound is poised somewhere between techno, house, disco and funk. His goal is to create things personal, imaginative, and raw as he believes that over-production removes personality and impact. His primary influences remain the music of his childhood, italo and disco, house - and the sounds from Detroit by artists such as Juan Atkins, Eddie Fowlkes, and Drexciya, which originally hooked him on electronic dance music. music: http://downlowmusic.org/$tinkworx/nrpromo ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UPCOMING GO BANG! 8/1: (DJ) Shortbus DJs - (Live) Stinkworx 8/8: (DJ) Cocoa Cracker Brown - (Live) Trent + Xenia 8/15: (Live) - Zach Layton 8/22: (DJ) Tatiana Llanis - (Live) Honeychild 8/29: (DJ/Live) Safety Scissors ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
