well i guess genre would never be a term i would have called it. it
seems an awkward catch-all phrase for certain types of electronic
music. but as a genre it's even more misnamed and indistinct
than most others.
it's funny to discover this, thanks! even funnier - i belong to the DIR
(digital indie rock) maliling list on yahoo - it'd be funny if that term
or its acronym became officially used as well. then again, there
aren't many artists working in that field (the notwist and the postal
service being obvious standouts, recent additions being dwayne
sodahberk and pluramon).
