Well I´d suggest you try FL Studio which already was mentioned here
before. Its very easy to learn and it'll take while until you find the
limitations of this software, which in my opinion still lies in the
handling of audiofiles (like vocals and stuff). The good point is that
they're working hard at improving FL (fruity loops) so every new update
brings features you`ve been waiting for. And another good point is that
if you improve your skills and you might even start using cubase in some
future you`ll be able to include FL Studio by using it as a rewireclient
for cubase. Just great
