Since I'm being called on, I have to say that I do not have Ulrich
Schnauss' latest output and am only familiar with Faraway Trains,
which I thoroughly LOVE. Goosebumps and pleasant shivers? YES!
I too hanker after the Golden Age of IDM circa 1994, where melodies
reigned and balming synth washes were the order of the day.
We had a rewarding thread going some years back regarding "Songs that
Make You Cry" and there are certainly fewer coming out these days
that grab me on such a strong emotive level as, say, Carl Craig's A
Wonderful Life.
Listening to Metamatics "Man-Q-Neons" off Midnight Sun Pig at the
moment and that does have such sweet qualities.
