I think you're reffering to the rapture, not idm but rocking and very appealing to the electroinc dance music fan. I agree with you on the notwist and postal service, those are nice but they hardly rock although the first notwist album does actually rock. Afx records rock too but not in the way that I think you're thinking. -----Original Message----- From: Thad Biggerstaff [mailto:daht73@yahoo.com] Sent: Friday, August 29, 2003 3:20 PM To: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: [idm] feedback on rocking idm a big thanks for all the suggestions on rocking idm. as soon as i find some real computer time im gonna follow up on a few of the bands named. however, i still cant help but feel that what im looking for just hasnt happened yet. i didnt say rock *and* idm- i said *rocking* idm. bands like notwist and the postal service, for instance, are to my ears way too tame and bland. I need ROCKING! :) i want waves of sound. bent chords. large amounts of processing. live and electronic percussion combined. vocals that work with the music rather tahn just lay over it. again, boredoms- vision creation newsun and the swirlies collaboration with dj spooky point to the direction im looking for. but im afraid the music i have in my head just hasnt been accomplished yet. maybe i should do it :) anyways, hopefully im wrong and once i check out some of the suggestions i havent heard yet, ill find my fix. just wanted to say thanks, though, for all the feedback! best- -Thad ===== Thad Biggerstaff ~ReSource~ daht73@yahoo.com "Not to forget, I 'museumize' myself; so that then I pay myself a visit and find me again in all the relics, to hand down memories from one to the other, like a genealogical tree, as if it were morning!" - Massimo Toniutti __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
