Digital Sound Processing. It means processing sound digitally, ie. not analogue. It can be used in "IDM" or any other form of "electronic" music. A symphony orchestra would not be regarded as employing DSP while playing live, however, their recording may well be manipulated using e.g. ProTools in the studio prior to releasing a CD of the live work, so even that could be digitally processed.
