umm, is it just me or haven't they always been kind of pompous? it seems they've alway had a pretty antagonistic relationship with the public. and when you self-identify as THE leading light in cutting edge sound design, you're gonna come off as pompous. but i think it's fair to say they've been thinking of themselves in that way for years. there also really f*ing smart and talented, so i'm happy to cut 'em a little slack. personally, i detested Confield, but i'm finding Draft 7.30 much more accessible. my first listen through really blew my mind. i also think that greater accessibility was a response to public reaction to the last album, whether they want to admit it or not.
