Personally, I'd go with an iPod. Not only can it hold your mp3's, but
you can target it as a hard drive and use it for recording. One guy
got 16 tracks of 24/96 using DAW software and an MIO interface.
The absence of a fan would make these suckers great for remote
recording. I'm thinking about getting one to travel with my MBox!
They also come with a line-input and a menu function that let's you
plug in a microphone and record straight onto the iPod! Right now,
you're limited to six seconds of recording time, kinda useless...but if
that's improved upon in the future, that'd make the iPod a great device
for bootlegging shows...
