Are moby or BT "idm?" I always thought they were more housey or big beat than that? More like "IDM-Lite", not that there's anything wrong with that, but they're a far cry from stuff that was coming out even back in '96 when it came to music that interested me. Some people into electronic music I've spoken to over the past few years have thought of BT as some phenomenal musician, but I think they base that more on production values than actual interesting songs. I've heard 2 tracks, which were pointed out to be as 'good ones,' and was wholy unimpressed.
