Well, for "pro" stuff, there's Nuendo from Cubase that lets you do audio/video stuff, and on the PC side there's also Vegas and some other programs. For mac, there's the new Logic and some other stuff too. With the new Core Audio setup on OSX, you'll probably run into fewer snags on OS10.whatever.
