Just an FYI: they do like most other laptop companies and simply buy
the cases from a third party in some asian country. so you could get
them for basically any laptop.
of course, getting the rest of the parts probably wouldn't make it
worthwhile. but it certainly wouldn't be difficult for other companies to
design laptops the same way, as most do very little designing of their
own.
As far as the decision of buying a laptop goes, generally the best idea
nowadays is to go with what you have. If you're running Windows and
work really well in it, unless you feel like totally changing both how you
work and what you work with, stick with a pc (that, and your wallet will
thank you). If you use a mac and like the mac, wait a while for the new
15" powerbooks with a better case.
