As far as earbuds, I highly recommend the Sennheinser MX500. They are only
15$ and have really, really good quality sound reproduction for a pair of
earbuds... compared only to the Sony 888s when I was shopping around. Good
base for earbuds, although I think the Sonys are better, and great
mids/highs
As far as closed ear, you have a lot more options, depending on price range.
I'd go listen to a few and pick something that suits you... I use a paid of
Sony MDR V-6 for listening which I like just fine. There are some very good
sennheinser models and higher quality... depends what your price range is
really

Subject: [idm] Headphones recommendations (perhaps with iPod)
Date: Sat, 1 Mar 2003 00:04:56 -0800 (PST)
Hi -- could use your advice
So, for the most part I like IDM and Experimental
music.
This is already unique itself since it is the "quality
over quantity" of music I dig the most.
I will be getting an iPod soon, thus need a
replacement for those crappy earbuds they come with.
Any recommendations as to headphones (perhaps noise
cancelling) that would make my idm and experimental
tunes sound "great"?
Thanks in advance! :-)
