And I stand beside my comment that I would d/l something if I cannot find on cd. I don't buy vinyl. It's a waste in my opinion to pay 10 dollars+ for two tracks or more. Vinyl is a waste for me and is my perogative. I buy music if and when I can afford it but I don't go out of my way to pay $70 plus for two tracks from some obscure shite artist when I can d/l it. That is the initial problem with cd sales/record sales, its absurd how much people would pay for music when you can take that same 70 bucks and buy the cd and more...but that is relative to me and me alone. Artists press music in limited quantities (not all the time) just to hike up value and rarety of vinyl. Perhaps you need to reread the intial post as to understand what I was saying. Here is exactly, verbatum, what I wrote in regards to the blatant vitrol you(sic) spit to whip the fucking list into a religious frenzy.

Soulseek. I support the artists if and when I can afford to buy cd's, if not, I will rip it and d/l because personally I don't care if they make money or not. Making music is not about making money.<< As I stated before, you and other people tend to blow shit way out of proportion on this list to protect your precious little IDM music and elitist opinions when there is no fire to fight. Read - Comprehend - Post. -d. (my last opinion, don't bother to reply to me directly as this argument has gone on long enough) PS. By the way, speaking of people who make music for downloading, Proem and Merck encourages you to download their albums at: http://www.emusic.com/cd/10604/10604350.html http://www.emusic.com/label/90/90398.html ----Original Message----- From: John Hager [mailto:HagerJW@Healthall.com] Sent: Monday, February 10, 2003 3:32 PM To: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: RE: [idm] vinyl and buying music (was RE: [idm] seekign Proemrecommendations...)

oh it was eh ? my bad... pardon me for not seeing the HUMOR in someone suggesting that I should download mp3's instead of buying the music. is thinking that (from what you said) reading too much into things ??? i don't think so... that's what bothered me... i really don't care if you think vinyl is passe... if that's all you said, i wouldn't have bothered replying that first time. well it at least makes sense that you don't understand the weight of your first statement, since you aren't the one making any sacrifices to support vinyl releases... john --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
