It's still sad that after all this time and despite the creation of documentamovies like "scratch," people still think DJ'ing simply involves playing one song after another, completely disregarding the personal input and skill fast mixing, scratching, and cutting involve. Ah well. From their POV, it's never taken much to be a DJ -- just records and the ability to tell a beat.
