hehe
I personally think the problem with much of the "complaints" against
whatever this genre is called is that people who simply hear about it will
naturally draw the most extreme conclusions. It's similar to more
experimental forms of Jazz, Painting, Film-making, etc.
People unfamiliar with the genre will here "quiet, subtle sounds" or
"splatters of paint" and assume it was just done randomly, with no
direction, and that "anyone can do it."
Of course, my rebuttal is "if you think it's so easy and base, why aren't
you doing it better?"
