definitely. bringing electronics into the soft, sappy world of guitars! really though, ColdHouse has some very nice stuff on it in terms of taking 'wimpy indie rock' and throwing in some 'not forced, but quite natural feeling' electronic textures. the best part about it is that it sounds so appropriate. like if you weren't paying attention you wouldn't even notice. it's definitely coming from the rock camp as opposed to the DNTEL that came from the electric camp and incorporated 'indie' elements. funny, i actually interviewed Hood for Adesh's recordcamp.com (should be posted, like, in video-or-something, in a bit) when they were in nyc last friday. very nice chaps. though i must say the 'synthesis' works a lot better for them in the studio than live. at one point, though, the mic connection was all fucked up and it sounded really cool, like the vocal cut-ups on album.
