Yo Peeps, I got Geogaddi today, and, frankly, my opinion is my own and I can't be bothered with THAT debate. However, I was a touch miffed at shelling out twenty pounds for a lavishly packaged triple vinyl set, one side of which is just an etched picture. I feel they could easily have squished it onto two records (possibly at the expense of some of the more dispensible short tracks, although it's just my view that they're dispensible yadayadayada). After the lifesize surfboard that was 'Drukqs' on vinyl, it seems to me that Warp are edging towards the sliperry slope of Mo' Wax-isation. Does anyone remember the period they had when they were just releasing preposterous, humungous feats of architecture for covers e.g. Money Mark's second lp and that fucking ace Divine Styler album that I paid a small fortune for, which respectively featured a spinning kaliedoscope type thing and a cover that turned into a huge oregami pyramid? Now THERE was a good reason not to do coke, especially if you ran a record label! Anyhoo, it's all just a little too much expense for too superfluous a result if you ask me. You didn't, of course. marciablaine.cjb.net forthcoming: e.p. on Dalriada inclusion on Benbecula "Music Volume 2" inclusion on Law & Auder "I Am:Bient" inclusion on Struktur _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
