i recently wrote a quick and dirty program to read and write .wav files, and
thought i might pose this question to the list. i've been manipulating the
.wav data using various and sundry methods, and the results have been
interesting and encouraging; however, i seem to be adding a lot of noise to
the result.
my question is; can anyone recommend good resources (preferably books) for
dsp, sound manipulation, etc. with a focus on algorithms and theory? for
example, say i want to do something like create a high pass filter from
scratch, what should i read? some of the topics i'm interested in are fourier
transforms, granular synthesis, filters, envelopes, etc. i know next to
nothing about these topics.
hopefully this is tangentially on topic,
g.
