i think there's such a wide variety of material being released now that
there's plenty of styles to choose from. if you're looking for more abrasive
and/or energetic sounds, there's plenty to go around, from otto von
schirach, richard devine, phoenecia, math, jamie lidell, phthalocyanine,
hrvatski, squarepusher..... the list goes on and on. (not to mention V/VM!)
However, the intention is not just to namedrop, but to demonstrate that
there's quite a few artists who don't fit the "pretty IDM" mold. Personally,
I enjoy both sides of it, because they appeal to me even more in contrast to
one another.
