Also Aphex Twin - Nannou Autechre - Outpt or Vletrmx21 (or half a dozen others :-) ) Boards of Canada - anything from Music has the Right to Children. Aquarius in particular. BTW, that Boards of Canada album is a favourite of mine, but I can't help feeling a bit short changed by some of the 45-second long tracks. I mean it's nice that they're there, but I feel a bit teased by the way something starts brilliantly and then ends 8 bars later, as if they changed their minds. 'Kaini Industries' in particular makes me feel like this: an absolutely gorgeous melodic loop on a sort of melting slap bass (?!) that plays for about 30 seconds and then gives way to an unremarkable hand percussion loop for a few more bars before fading away. I felt so let down the first time I heard it, I thought it was going to turn into a monster steam train of a track instead of sputtering out. Every so often I'm tempted to try sampling that melody and building something bigger around it. Anig Browl _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
