that is a most excellent question. let's not start with "how" but *"when"* Because it sounds seem like he started moving in a dangerous but, for a while, fruitful direction before the electro house/pre-EDM vibe overtook . I imagine the opportunities to DJ within the trifecta of electro house/bassline/dubstep that blogs were pushing at this time was hard to turn down. For all that can be said about it, you gotta hand it to him for taking a chance on...whatever it is. His Fabric mix that came after this has "Rock Around the Clock" on it. Strange stuff man. I suppose my point is he had been edging towards a poppier sound for some time before he took one of the most impressive left turns of an electronic music producer ever. Discuss.
