TD are definetly hit and miss, ditto with Froese's solo stuff. I bought this "AMBIENT" box set put out by Virgin, which came with Klaus Schulze's "Timewinds", Edgar Froese's "Aqua", and Ashra's "Blackouts". The Schulze was good enough to keep, but sounds kinda dated. The Froese album grated on me, so I sold it. But Ashra's "Blackouts" I was mesmerized by. Anyone else heard this? Cray swirling psychedelic guitar with lots of effects (complex layering ala Robert Fripp), with ample analog synth experiments and internal processing. I'd love to find more stuff along these lines. It has the same wonderful warmth of Laraaji's "Ambient 3".
