sorry to sound STUPID, but i thought "pressing "random" and up'ing the tempo on drum'n'bass?" WAS innovation. by pressing "random" and up'ing the tempo on drum'n'bass" he created a new style - now THAT's innovation isn't it? Doing anything differently (ie. "making standard house "weird," and "updating Brian Eno-style ambient") is a ticket for innovation.
