Has anyone mentioned Nobukazu Takemura? If not, he does this very well, and worth checking out. His remix of Steve Reich is very good, and the album scope is as well... -mATT- -----Original Message----- From: EggyToast [mailto:youn0394@umn.edu] Sent: Monday, August 14, 2000 4:10 PM To: Mike Baugh; idm Subject: Re: [idm] chopped up voices
quoted 6 lines hey there,>hey there, > >I'm trying to find out the name of an artist that uses chopped up voice >samples, not really saying anything just ahs and ohs and stuff, no beats or >anything but i think it might still be rhythmic, kind of sporadic >though...anyone have any idea? all help greatly appreciated...
well, some (most?) of scanner's stuff is like that, although that tends to be more rhythmic (i think...).. autechre's ccec does that too, but i'm pretty sure that's not it. boards of canada uses chopped up nonsense voice samples a lot but they use a lot of beats... i know there's more but that's all i can think of. -derek --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
