Has anyone mentioned Nobukazu Takemura? If not, he does this very well, and
worth checking out. His remix of Steve Reich is very good, and the album
scope is as well...

well, some (most?) of scanner's stuff is like that, although that tends to
be more rhythmic (i think...).. autechre's ccec does that too, but i'm
pretty sure that's not it. boards of canada uses chopped up nonsense voice
samples a lot but they use a lot of beats...
i know there's more but that's all i can think of.
