Here's an idea: PLUR is a diminutive of plural, which is an example of the
pluralistic ideals of the rave scene. These ideals go beyond plural and
sometimes cross into contradiction. Thus the general acidic feeling in one's
gut when encountering someone who is 'all about the rave scene' who later
fiends for Ecstasy and K so hard they spend $150 (not including the $35 to
get into the massive) in a night just to have a 'good roll.' They then go on
to explain that they love the community, the music and the people, yet leave
it at that. The rest of the night is spent silently staring at the subs in
the Drum n Bass room, completely overlooking the breakdancers doing
backfilps. That kind of unity with oneself cannot be broken.
PLUR,
Lee
