okay so i know i'm gonna get totally obilterated for this one, but here it
goes. i've always been a glutton for punsihment.
electronic top ten list-
1. underworld/ beaucoup fish/v2
* my favorite artist, three mind blowing shows in los angeles. this record
puts a smile on my face every time listen to it. "jumbo" & "bruce lee" alone
were what sold me.
2. super_collider/head on/skint-medicine-loaded
phenomenally funked up...fuck beck and his party, cristian and james throw
an event.
3. unit/the narcoleptic symphony/caipirinha
*swept me off my feet. the stripped down electronic cousin of my bloody
valentines "loveless".
4. gentle people/simply faboo/rephlex
*fun, energetic. reminds me of junior high school while on a steady diet of
depeche mode..
5. andrea parker/kiss my arp/mo wax-beggars banquet
*speechless...
6. stewart walker/stabiles/force inc.
*one of the most beautiful records i've heard all year. maybe ever.
7. nightmares on wax/carboot soul/warp-matador
*smooth as fuck grooves."finer" is what a hip hop lullabye would sound like.
8. ming and fs/hells kitchen/om
*to steal a friends wording, junk-staposition rules!
9.tie-
les rhythmes digitales/darkdancer/wall of sound-astralwerks
*"brothers" was a highlight here.
mr.scruff/"get a move on" cd5/ninja tune
*the sampled riff placed quite nicely amongst the years most toe-tappingnest
groove.
10. howie b/snatch/pussyfoot-palm pictures
*especially for the track "gallway"
