in hopes of getting this list back into music mode (no thanks to me i know)... disregard the mildness of my comment earlier about supersilent 4... it's a fantastic album! a mix between jazz, electronic music & noise should never work, right? well, supersilent is as relentless as free jazz, & as precise as the best techno. manages to loses shape without losing ground... or is it the other way around? a very original sound which works because of sheer density, detail, & a sense of exploration quite unlike what i'm used to. there is SO MUCH music on these 7 tracks! still not quite the 'idm free jazz' i was trying to find a few months back, but it's getting very close... & it's a nice direction indeed. anybody with comments on supersilent 1-3 please forward them this way. i've also gotten the new chessie album, which strikes me as having both a similarity in sound & a bit of the same problems as köhn 2, but it's a lot more listenable. but still, not a hell lot of detail. an enjoyable listen though. maybe i should give köhn 2 another chance. i've also gotten a dj scud 7" from the gun court series because the store sticker on it made a point to mention: 'very crazy breaks'. but i've yet to listen to that one. & i thought i'd never buy anything dhr-related! so, let's put the content back in 'idm content' shall we... ~ david np: blonde redhead. that & ut were the only rock bands i really listened to this year. gotta love that obscure sonic sound. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
