i don't know why i've taken so long in subscribing to this list, but
here i am. i lookforward to your messages and meeting some new people (
i know some of you in other contexts...).
and now, for the aspiring musicologists amongst us (or just plain
wannabes, like me), i recently found something very interesting in a
used bin: 'prime numbers', by other music. if there's a nominal
connection between this and the store in nyc, i dunno. but it's quite
intriguing - no sequencing, just an ensemble of percussionists playing
justly-tuned (their octave has 14 notes; it strikes me as very similar
to one isaac newton devised) gamelan-like instruments. it sounds really
crazy. it came out in 1980 - proto-idm? this could be on mego or skam.
ring any bells for anyone here?
