so you want a free MP3 encoder? i just found one, and i used it to encode a treat you'll find below. first, get http://hem.passagen.se/ceel/l3enc.zip and unzip it. (only 49K !) then get http://www.modindata.se/cwenc12.zip and unzip it. (only 312K !) the former is the dos-based encoder, while the latter is a simple windows 95 interface which employs the encoder. after unzipping the cwenc12.zip file, run cwenc12.exe. help the program locate l3enc.zip and you'll be encoding in a matter of seconds, assuming you have some .wav files stored on your hard drive, as i did. the file i had on hand is from carpet bomb 002, and it took up 40.6 megs in .wav format. the MP3 file is only 3.68 megs, and it sounds damn good. to get it, visit http://www.microlink.net/~mlee/unagi.html right click on the song title, and select "save link as." enjoy ! matt
