you know, interestingly, when i saw him live he played a bunch of new
material (i think it was, anyway, and i've got most/all of his releases)
and it was almost totally beatless. just kind of gentle bass throbs and
pulses overlaid with concretized turkish musique samples. it was
beautiful stuff, i wish i had a tape of it.

: stuff its that his lo-fi production ethic takes away some impact from
: his tracks. Makes me want to remix his stuff to add a little space back

another interesting point - i read an interview with matt/3ef in which he
kind of dissed flying saucer attack's lo-fi ethic and talked about how he
wasn't opposed to using multi-track recorders, etc. i think a lot of the
lo-fi quality of "ghost" comes from his heavy use of samples which he
pitches down extremely, giving them a grainy, low resolution texture.
"sound of violence" is pretty well-produced, though.
