Exactly the question I wanted to ask. ;-) As far as I know (agreeing with what Gil said) if a legit release did come out, it was on Blue Angel/Rising High ... Now, my questions are a) does anyone have the 4 track titles for this baby? and b) is one of them "Hedimental" by any chance? I ask because I've heard mention of a 12" with that title (Wire, July '96, p. 38) and I always wondered if it was his first one, or something else. It's listed as being on Blue Angel/Rising High along with the "States Of Mind" 12" (aka "Offbeat"), which would make sense. Just to recap the contributions of PUCKERED1@aol.com and gg2g4ink@sprynet.com, and putting everything in order ... 'cuz I wanna get things straight once & for all. "Main Vein" 12" (Rising High/Blue Angel | Witch 001 Self Released) "Shape Of Rage" 12" (Leaf) aka ("Offworld/Leviathan" 12") "States Of Mind" 12" (Blue Angel) aka ("Offbeat" 12") "Nightmare Alley" 2x12" (Deviant) "Explorimenting Beats" 2LP/CD (Deviant) "Heavy Mental" CD5/12" (Deviant) "Heavy Traffic" 2CD/4LP [collection of EP and compilation tracks] (Deviant) Remixes On 12" (from gg2g4ink@sprynet.com): Gary Numan Bowery Electric Cranium HF Finitribe ("Squelch") Cornershop ("WOG") Exclusive Comp Tracks (from gg2g4ink@sprynet.com): FSET #2 & #3 Breakbeat Science 1 Avantgardism East-Westercism (as GOLDWATER) Narcosis (as GOLDWATER) possibly others ... Anyone else who knows something that's missing, please add it ... Lastly, some more questions/answers: Gil said:

Shit, I wish I knew. Ever since I heard mention of this back in 1994 and later when I read the short interview in MFTEQ10, I was hoping that it would surface. There was supposed to be a single & full-length, and way back when (as I'm sure you know) both of them were label searching, and assuming someone would pick it up. As fas as I know now (can't remember if John mentioned anything in Immerse #2 ...), John is sitting on a whole lot of recorded material and, waiting for what (I don't know?) ...

Beats me. How recently did they go bankrupt? Anyone know how well the Witchman stuff on Deviant has been selling? My experience with it here (in Toronto) is that it sold/sells very well. Multiple copies came into the stores and were gone immediatley, and every time the records have been reordered, the same thing has happened.
quoted 1 line and why are all these Deviant titles always so difficult to find Stateside?>and why are all these Deviant titles always so difficult to find Stateside?
I've been wondering this myself. Like I said, I've had no trouble finding the material in Toronto, but from experience (with both the US & Canada), UK stuff is always easier to score and available sooner here (at least in the stores I shop in) than in the US. I don't think I've seen any Deviant titles at Modern Music (for example), but I believe Bent Crayon has had some. I've also heard from people in Cali & Chicago who were able to find copies. I actually just sent two copies of "EB" to friends in the States as a result of this "unavailability" ... Lastly, while we're speaking of Mr. Roome, is he planning on a Goldwater full-length any time soon? -Patrick np: Sonar - "S/T"
