with all this talk of trent reznor & nothing, i'll give my two cents. i
only have a problem with him releasing people like plug & mbm because i've
read countless interviews with him saying that the techno/rave scene is
stupid, a "genre built around one song." he says aphex would be the
exception... i don't think that someone who says has the right to turn
around and A) borrow the style (perfect drug), B) have really good artists
of said genre do remixing (orb, spacetime contiuum, plug, mbm), and C)
release really good records from said genres built around the same song.
it's really hypocritical, and should be offensive to anyone who really
takes idm to heart.
that being said, i must say i do like trent reznor's music. i just think if
he's going to be involved so much in this genre, he should get his opinions
straight.
