The knob-twiddler formerly known as Dave Monolith returns to WeMe under his
MNLTH moniker for the long-overdue release of the Time EP, five tracks
written around the time of his standout 2011 LP Welcome. Fans of Welcome
and of Rephlex releases in general will already be familiar with the
trademark analogue warmth of MNLTH’s work to date, but the real beauty of
his output is in its arrangement, which displays a precision and subtlety
matched only by the likes of electronic heavyweights RDJ and Mike
Paradinas. Every track here features layer upon layer of melody and rhythm
without ever feeling cluttered or overworked – this is truly one for the
analogue connoisseurs out there. The digital release is an extended version
with 11 tracks.
