I know that various complaints of the following nature have been written at various times over the months and years that I've ( we've ) been on this (and other) lists, but please consider the following as list etiquette. I am not the list master, but I certainly am an equal member of this group and feel we all should'nt have to put up with the following type of crap: 1. When quoting emails from others regarding a subject that you would like to comment on, please regard the length of what you're quoting. For instance, someone writes a 50 line comment, someone responds to *one section* of the quote and in the process quotes*the whole damn thing*! Generally these responses go something like, "I agree" or "Yeah, me too" or even "Cool" * This is a total waste of scrolling/reading time.* 2. I don't know all of the reasons why this happens, but many times people mistakenly post what scrolls out to be page after page after page of code, sometimes postscipt and sometimes what looks to be open html. I don't know why this happens but if there is any way to be more careful, please do. * Another laborious waste of time. * 3. This could be totally off base, but is'nt there a rule for posting sales/auctions and the like as a teaser with an invitation to email privately? I don't know if this is a policy or if I'm just being a prude. Although I'm interested in many sales and auctions, I am on the digest and unfortunately have to scroll and read and scroll and read and scroll........to get to the next message. Again, I think its great that sales can go on, but those on the digest don't have the choice to read past the sales while the normal subscribers can simple erase a sale posting and move on. To prove I'm not a hypocrite, email me privately....soon I will have an email bid auction for some very cool items: rare Detroit, rare IDM, ambient, d+b, weird, etc. Thanks for the read, sorry it's long but there are no quotes and no code and no open sales... with respect, bpm0@interport.net Peter Becker, Promotions: Retail, DJ Pool Asphodel Records, NYC Phone # (212) 965-0265 FAX # (212) 965-0959
