Well, I finally heard that new NIN song. I know that it's been out for
awhile. I avoid commercial radio at all costs! I saw the new video as
well. I've always felt that NIN was just a mix of Skinny Puppy and
Ministry with catchy pop hooks. At best, I have thought that Trent's
stuff was "OK" in the past. A bit pretentious, but "OK". But this new
tune is where he hits rock bottom. That chorus is enough to drive you
off a cliff. The only redeeming quality is the cool drum break. With U2
and (supposedly) Smashing Pumpkins heading into dancier territories,
Perry Farrell's electronic music prophecy (this guy is a certified CORN
FLAKE), it's probably safe to say that........
THE DARK DAYS ARE UPON US.
