The term 'techno' was first used by Alvin Toffler in his book "The Third Wave" (from 1979 I think?), but that wasn't specifically directed at the music. I don't know about the first musically-related use of 'techno', I guess it's either one of the two above or Juan Atkins / Cybotron.
