I took acid at the party, and the show was completely amazing, it was like they knew exactly which buttons i had, and how to push them. Those who saw the show sober came away with the same almost indifferent opinion as above, those who took psychedelics proclaimed The Orb as their new gods. When i came home from that show i made a few posts to these lists with this idea: The Orb are a drugs band, plain and simple. they make music to trip to, music to get completely baked to, music for your soul to dance to. It never was strictly just dance music, or electronic dub. maybe 'little fluffy clouds' was, but i think the music has deeper purposes, best enjoyed on drugs. well, i saw them again this weekend. the first three songs i saw sober were decent, nice dancey tracks....pretty groovy stuff. at this point, i took about three or so hits off a friend's pipe. a minimal amount, enough to keep it interesting, or so i thought [i had forgotten about my earlier proclamation]...at this point, the show supernova'd into a throbbing pulsing living entity of music and bass and life...."montagne d'or" was the bomb used to deliver this payload...the end of the song found me *screaming*, astounded at what had just happened, not wanting it to stop. each song was like this, bringing me close to actual *tears of joy* (quit laughing...). This show wiped my mind, and it was a combination of Herb and Orb that did me in. Discuss. mikebee
