fame and the "collector's value" of some of his harder-to-find material
...
One of the many delights at a recent Disobey club night in London was a
DJ set by Richard James. Clubgoers received a limited edition (200
copies) double-7" of his set, no doubt enormously collectible ... 'Fraid
it wasn't ambient music though; the two singles consist of discs cut from
different sandpaper grades, with holes punched in the centre. And yes,
this WAS the music he had played ...
