Its no joke. Trainspotters like to spend their time standing on train platforms and then write down the numbers of the carriages they see. In a country the size of England this isnt as hopeless a task as it might seem. I wasnt one of these people, those I was a member of Rail Riders once :)

Yeah. A trainspotter in terms of records is someone who collects all of one kind of thing, usually specific to a specific group or artist. A trainspotter spends his time trying to find rare tracks, limited editions, and other seemingly insignificent information about their particular subject. Kind of like a lot of Richard James fans. :)
