Just realized that the draft reply I began was sent incomplete. I’ve been making music of different genres for quite a few years. I was around Detroit when the techno/house thing took off, repairing musical electronics professionally. I repaired the sound system at Detroit's legendary Music Institute. I still own the tape machine that Derrick May used there for loops. I did repairs and customs for many of the notable Detroit acts and quite a few collaborations as well, almost all of which are uncredited. I played in punk bands, engineered for others, did warranty repairs for about any synth company (Sequential and Moog were still alive when I began), was employed at a larger live sound outfit, taught engineering, and ran studios. I've used almost all of the gear you can think of from vintage to software-based. I have little affection for cranky, old gear that makes me waste time at the workbench. I'm a firm believe that most classic recordings were great not because of the gear, but in spite of it. I used Camel Audio's Alchemy synth for much of recent work but, since it's only available in Logic these days, I spent some time researching what synths other non-Logic Alchemy user migrated to. One name that kept popping up was UVI's Falcon. I prefer the idea of having a number of synthesis algorithms under the same interface which keeps me from having to learn a multitude of interfaces ( I still own a Kurzweil K2500 for that reason). I was quite pleasantly surprised to discover that Avid had recently deposited a license for Falcon into my account (some kind of special deal). It seems to be all that Alchemy is and a bit more. I've done some microtonal ambient, and plan to do more, so it's ability to import scala tuning files directly was a nice feature. I also use a Yamaha MOX8 and AN1x (nice virtual analog) and EX-5 (the internal VL synth is pretty unique). https://soundcloud.com/eden909/demo-reel contains a wide variety of stuff I've worked on, either as engineer/producer/mastering or composer.
