Sort of quasi-I-can't-describe-music reviews
Joseph Nothing album on Planet-Mu - This is lovely!!! I think Mike described
him as Aphex crossed with something else, and can you ever hear it. I know
lots of purists are gonna say it's "derivative", but it's lush! Recommended.
Tortoise : Standards. Hey, it's Tortoise. Great stuff, but they seem to be
slowing down - But how long can you stay well ahead of anyone else, eh?
The new Labradford is fantastic, if you like their stuff.
Also got another 7" on Planet Mu, which I've not played yet. They've
achieved Warp status, where I buy everything they put out. And at the
moment, it's like those mad days of Rephlex when there was a new record
every week.
Checked out the BoC remix of Slag Boom Van Loon. Fucking great. I hope the
CD's / vinyl has been manufactured and a faithful London shop breaks the
street date :)
In addition to that, I got the Miles Davis "Young Miles" box - But I guess
Miles sold out by dying or something, so I'll stop talking about him now.
Iain (hoping Television won't suck at All Tomorrows Parties)
