No, we didn't mean it seriously. There won't be any looting or any
shooting. Well, maybe shooting, but that depends on who you meet at the
party, and you have to take that somewhere else.
We're having a free party that's a little left of center in Denton. No, I
don't care. It's free. No excuses.
It's Saturday January 15th at the Brickaus Cafe in Denton, 5:30pm to
midnight. So you can come up early and still go down to the raves in
Dallas or wherever, get your groove on, and be fashionably late. And it's
a wide variety of music, too.
Timeslots:
Proem (now with sound check, so he WILL actually play) - 6:15 - 7:15
Fluoroscopic Kid - 7:45 - 8:45
Stereo Rookie - 9:15 - 10:15
One Piece - 10:45 - 11:30
Regarding the timeslots, we had to swap out One Piece and Stereo Rookie
because the talented Bill Shupp/Shoop/Schoep will be playing a gig with
another band later the same night at another bar in Denton. Sheesh, these
rockstars nowadays! Along similar lines, the super secret surprise thing
is pretty much off, because all those kids had other gigs. Sorry.
More info can be found at
http://www.sonictherapy.com/loot.html - if you
have any questions, feel free to give us an email and we'll answer em as
best we can. :)
Oh yeah, links to where you can hear some music by these crazy kids. Hmm.
Proem -
http://mkultra.txraves.org has a live set he did on KVRX in
Austin.
Fluoroscopic Kid -
http://www.sonictherapy.com/mp3 and
http://www.sonictherapy.com/fluoroscopic/n8.html
One Piece -
http://www.mp3.com/onepiece
Stereo Rookie has a website, nothing there yet -
http://www.stereorookie.com - but again, trust me - if you like Chomsky,
Deathray Davies, Adventures of Jet, or any of the other local popsters,
you'll like this. Or Matthew Sweet, Super Deluxe, or Fountains of Wayne.
Come on up to Denton with an open mind and have a good time. And a
sandwich too... they make some badass sandwiches.
